For the most part this provides virtually total coverage for coasting yachtsman, although there are still gaps where planned stations do not yet operate, or where major ports are along way apart Message Types & transmission Times All messages are text, there are no weather maps or graphics. The transmissions are broadcast on 518 kHz by timed sequence so that no station will overlap another. This means there will be some delay from switching on the unit to receiving information useful to you, and most units are left on permanently whilst the boat is in commission. You can programm out message types of no interest to you. Each message type is identified by a letter of the alphabet as follows.
